We sought out five small business experts with different areas of expertise - all showcasing at the Great British Business Show.
We asked them to give their best quick and clever tips to business owners, buyers and sellers. Here are the results:
1. Have passion

2. Marketing shouldn't come last

"Don't put marketing at the bottom of your pile like lots of companies do....it's no use having the best products in the world if you don't tell anybody about it. Create a strong brand and a strong position: Be different."
3. Add your terms to your invoices

"To help manage cashflow make sure you put your terms on your invoices - we see so many businesses that send out invoices without contact terms and it never fails to amaze me."
4. Design investment is critical to success
